1:X,000 scale Participatory 3D Model
(P3DM) of Burmu, Ranchi, Jharkand, India. (7-13 September,
2009).
Note:
The model measuring 0.6 m x 0.6 m (XXX km2
on the ground) has been manufactured by the
Adivasi, an umbrella term for a heterogeneous
set of ethnic and tribal groups claimed to be
the aboriginal population of India.
The model has been done to assist participants
in becoming more aware of their ancestral rights
on land and other resources, the vast and
valuable knowledge they hold and to strengthen
their capacity to articulate such and
communicate with external entities.
A total of 42 representatives
from Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Orissa,
Tamilnadu and Karnataka
attended the exercise.
The exercise served also as a
training ground for Participatory 3D model
making and for using
CyberTracker,
GPS icon based geocoding device.
