We
focus on Participatory Mapping Techniques because
community-based maps meet
local needs and are of great help in solving conflicts over resource
use and tenure. Geo-referenced spatial community
knowledge facilitates interaction of rural
communities with government institutions and donor agencies.
This is integral part of IAPAD's Vision,
Mission and Goals. |

We do our best to promote genuine grassroots participation in project
cycle management. We can assist in designing and
implementing participatory actions in the context of rural
development and natural resource management. Where appropriate
we can help you getting in touch with NGOs and individuals
experienced in organizing and facilitating Participatory
3-D Modeling (P3DM).
The method has large potential for
collaborative research, planning and management in the fields
of environmental protection, community-based natural resource
management, conflict resolution, resource tenure, customary rights, social analysis,
agricultural production, fisheries, rural development,
transport and water supply.
